A Midsummer Night’s Dream

For this student project, our class was tasked with creating a poster to promote a campus production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. At the end of the project, the director would select one final design to represent the show. For my poster, I chose a photograph that captured the play’s ethereal and whimsical tone through a soft forest backdrop and a dreamlike image of a female character wandering through the woods. When revising the design, I focused on improving typographic hierarchy by pairing a serif script for the title with modern, legible sans-serif text for supporting information. I also darkened the original image so that the white text and the woman’s dress would stand out more clearly, helping to evoke the magical atmosphere of the play.
